Thursday Jan 11, 2024

Welcome back, basketball fans! In this episode, we've got a lot to cover, so make sure you're subscribed for all the latest updates. Let's dive right in.
First up, we've got a Bet B1G Twitter update for you. Don't forget about the Big Ten Huddle on Sunday nights – it's where the real basketball talk happens.
Now, let's talk about some recent upsets that shook the Big Ten. Purdue took a hit, losing to Nebraska with a score of 88-72. Nebraska's three-point game was on fire, hitting 14 out of 23 attempts. Purdue tried to keep up with 13 threes, but their shooting percentage was not on their side. Despite winning the turnover battle, they couldn't secure the victory. From a basketball standpoint, Mast's performance guarding Edey one on one was noteworthy.
On the same night, Rutgers pulled off a win against Indiana with a score of 77-66. The scoring was well-balanced, with five players hitting double figures. They also managed to contain Ware, limiting him to 50% shooting and 13 points. The foul count was lopsided at 22 to 13.
Northwestern delivered a strong performance, beating Michigan State convincingly at home, while Wisconsin managed to secure an 11-point win against Ohio State on the road – a reminder that road games are always a challenge.
Now, let's take a look at the standings. Road records can tell us a lot about a team's resilience, so we'll break it down for you. Check out the standings and let's talk it through with some visuals.
Looking ahead to the weekend, we've got some exciting matchups. Michigan takes on Maryland in a late-night thriller, and Michigan State faces off against Illinois. Tomorrow, keep an eye on the Minnesota vs. Indiana game – a big chance for Minnesota to make a statement. Nebraska heads to Iowa in what promises to be an intense battle.
Saturday features Northwestern against Wisconsin and Penn State taking on Purdue. On Sunday, Rutgers faces Michigan State, and Maryland goes head-to-head with Illinois – the outcome depends on what happens tonight.
We'll wrap things up with our power rankings. Stick around as we explain the algorithm a bit and showcase the rankings.
And, of course, it's never too early to start thinking about the Big Ten Tournament. Join us for a bit of story time as we reminisce about past tournaments and look forward to the excitement this year.
That's it for this episode. Thanks for tuning in, and we'll catch you next time on the court. Goodbye!
